Elementary Resident Equestrian 4 July 7-12, 2013 Sunday 4:00pm check-in through Friday 6:30pm dismissal.
July 7-12 (Sun-Fri) for rising 3rd-6th graders: Your week includes all the classic fun and activities of regular Elementary Resident Camp PLUS two days of Equestrian skills and riding at Faux Farms Riding Stables (see information below). You will live in a co-ed family-unit of 10-12 campers and 2-4 counselors. You and your unit will plan your week’s activities including swimming, group games, crafts, nature lessons and exploration, creek-play, parachute games, archery, orienteering, camping skills, challenge initiatives, unit-participation vespers and Morning Watch, cabin and evening devotions, Bible study, special evening programs, night activities, skit night, daily group duties, tending our farm animals, hiking the camp trails and a singing-hike to Horseshoe Bend, polar bear swims, hosting meals, and nightly campfire worship. On Tuesday or Wednesday your family unit will have a cook-out and overnight camp-out in your Home-in-the-Woods (see opt-out info on brochure page 5). Be here for an awesome week! By May 1 = $350; after May 1 = $400. Equestrian (English-style ring riding) Saddle up for two days of Equestrian skills and riding at Faux Farms Stables, just 1 mile from Camp Bethel! Tucked into these beautiful rolling hills of home, the fine folks at Faux Farms Stables will teach you how to ride a horse and all the basics of horse husbandry. You will gain confidence in your skills learning what horse people know. This hands-on program for true horse enthusiasts covers horse safety, health and nutrition, grooming and use of all the equipment so you will be able to tack up your mount for your daily lesson. It doesn’t end there! You’ll compete for team prizes during fun-filled skill games that test your horse sense. Wear pants and boots. Helmets, gear and professional leadership provided. Minimum weight 60 lbs. Rated: easy to moderate.
