3 (Sun-Fri) for rising 7th-9th graders:
Your week
includes all the classic fun and activities of regular Jr High Resident Camp
PLUS two days of Equestrian skills and riding at Faux Farms Riding Stables (see
description below). You will live in a co-ed family unit of 10-12 campers with
2-4 counselors. Other activities for the week include group games, nature,
crafts, music and singing, campfire vespers, swimming, low-ropes group
challenges, creek-play, Home-in-the-Woods camping skills, hiking the camp trails
and a singing hike to Horseshoe Bend, orienteering and geocaching,
unit-participation vespers and Morning Watch, Bible study, polar bear swims,
night activities, special all-camp programs and a day on the high ropes course!
Tuesday or Wednesday your family unit will have a cookout in your
Home-in-the-Woods and have one or more overnight camp-outs (see opt-out info on
page 5). This is a great week of spiritual development, fun and adventure;
exploring your extraordinary faith journey and discovering the Treasures of the
Kingdom. By May 1 = $340; after May 1 = $390.
Equestrian

Saddle up for
two days of Equestrian skills and riding at Faux Farms Stables, just 1 mile from
Camp Bethel! Tucked into these beautiful rolling hills of home, the fine folks
at Faux Farms Stables will teach you how to ride a horse and all the basics of
horse husbandry. You will gain confidence in your skills learning what horse
people know. This hands-on program for true horse enthusiasts covers horse
safety, health and nutrition, grooming and use of all the equipment so you will
be able to tack up your mount for your daily lesson. It doesn’t end there!
You’ll compete for team prizes during fun-filled skill games that test your
horse sense. Wear pants and boots. Helmets, gear and professional leadership
provided. Minimum weight 60 lbs. Rated: easy to moderate.
