Facility:
Camp Bethel is
located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, just 10 minutes from
exit 156 off I-81 (or 13 miles north of Hollins University off Rt.
11).
Our 470 acres of
forests, trails, ponds,
streams and meadows are perfect settings to reinforce and supplement
your class lessons. Accessible indoor facilities mean field trips can
occur regardless of weather conditions.
Leadership:
Your Outdoor
Classroom is coordinated and led by Botetourt County resident, Beth
Wiegandt. Beth has Bachelor and Masters degrees in Environmental
Education from the University of Virginia and has taught many years in
Virginia Public Schools. She has developed outdoor programs for
schools and camps and is a facilitator for other outdoor learning
series.
We ask all groups to have at least 1 chaperone or teacher for every 7
students.
Lunch Options:
Pack a bag lunch.
Camp Bethel offers a dining shelter and bathrooms.
