3. HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Apple Butter! Calling all Night Owls! Camp Bethel summer staff, CITs, volunteers, district youth/young adults, and anybody else who wants to help will begin stirring apple butter at 6:30pm, Friday night October 5. The apple butter will be sold in Saturday morning's Heritage Day Festival to help fund the ministries of Camp Bethel. We need many, many volunteers to help stir through the overnight hours. We also need additional pint and quart jars. Camp will provide lots of caffeine and snacks to keep us lively through the night (and beds for naps when not stirring). If you are willing to help with apple butter please call Susan at the camp office (540) 992-2940 or camp.bethel@juno.com. See you here!
OTHER WAYS TO HELP:
Encourage everyone you know to attend this Saturday. Promote Heritage Day to others by e-mail, phone and word-of-mouth. Bring someone along; provide an outing for someone less mobile; carpool.
Help monitor trash barrels during the day and help with trash after 2:30pm.
Help a kid catch a fish (and unhook a fish) from 11:00-1:00.
After 2:30pm: Help bring directional and parking signs to the Ark parking lot. Help bring empty, clean hand-washing stations and buckets to LaMont storage cabin. Help Tim take down electrical lines and boxes. Help bring empty trash barrels to the New Maintenance Shop area.
4. WHO'S SERVING THE BEST COFFEE?
(Disclaimer: The camp staff does NOT recommend drinking eleven cups of coffee...)
Help us decide our (tongue-in-cheek) "2nd Annual David Shumate Prime-Percolator Award." Adults can test the coffee from eleven different church booths, then vote for your favorite via e-mail at camp.bethel@juno.com, subject BEST COFFEE. Results will be tallied and announced in our upcoming e-newsletters.

A note to our churches and participants:
Plan A is for our 2007 Heritage Day Festival to be out-of-doors in main camp as in years 1984-2005.
Plan B, in case of rain on Saturday morning, is to move exhibits into the Deer Field Gym as we did in 2006, (see photos HERE).
Final determination (of Plan A or B) will be announced by 5:00am Saturday morning, October 6. Please be prepared for either plan. Thank you!
