Hey, I’m Adam! This will be my second year at Camp Bethel, and I am excited to serve as the Mental Health Coordinator this summer. I grew up in the mountains of Grundy, Virginia, and currently reside in Radford, where I am studying Social Work at Radford University. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and spending time outdoors. I am overjoyed to be returning to camp and reconnect with old friends.

David Adams - Junior CounselorDavid Adams is a rising senior at Faith Christian School in Roanoke, VA, where he has lived since 2023. This is his second summer as a junior counselor, and he is very excited to return! He is hoping to study Music Composition in college and learn how to write music that glorifies God, the original Great Author, Artist and Composer. He can play the piano and the ukulele, and is currently learning guitar and drums on his quest to absorb all musical knowledge in the world. He enjoys playing the piano for his school and church, composing (as one would hope), singing (regular and Tuvan throat singing), reading, teaching, acting, comedy, wearing a top hat, and talking about himself in the third person.

Sophie Thomas - Senior Counselor Greetings from Sophie! I’m a gal who loves Jesus, animals, the outdoors, and—of course—adventure. I hold an Associate’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Anthrozoology, the study of human–animal interactions and relationships.
I’m excited to be returning to Camp Bethel, a place where I spent many childhood summers playing, learning, and growing. Camp Bethel shaped me in meaningful ways, and it’s a joy to come back years later as a Senior Counselor. My hope is to share that same passion and wonder with today’s campers and, with the Lord’s guidance, help make Camp Bethel an experience they’ll always remember. God has given me a deep passion for working with youth in outdoor settings—whether that involves animals or simply the beauty of nature itself. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve in Outdoor Ministry, go on adventures together, learn more about ourselves and about God, and create memories that will last a lifetime. |
