Counselors in Training In order to apply for a C.I.T. position, you must be enrolled in a summer camp week (as a camper!) for which you are age eligible. Additionally, CITs and their guardians will be required to attend a CIT orientation prior to training. If accepted, you can volunteer for 1-4 weeks of camp with guidance from Senior/Adventure Counselors.
Counselors in Training (ages 15-17):
In order to apply, Counselors in Training (CITs) must be enrolled in at least one summer camp program (for which they are age-eligible), and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. CITs can volunteer for 1-4 weeks under the supervision of adult summer staff who act as mentors to facilitate growth and competence in excellent counseling skills. There is a separate CIT Training and Practicum to teach CITs specific skills they will need to assist counselors. This summer, CIT Training is June 4-7, 2024 (Tues-Fri) which is during Week 2 of staff training. During a camp week, CITs work with a team of senior/adventure counselors to keep campers safe, act as a role model, and guide campers through the schedule/activities they have planned together.
