REQUIRED ATTENDANCE AND MEALS FORM
MEALS & MENUS
PAY FEES ONLINE
PRICES & COVID-19 INFO
Hello Friends and Families!  Labor Day Family Weekend is still scheduled for September 3-6 at Camp Bethel. However, due to concerns about the rising cases of the Delta Variant of COVID-19, we have (once again) had to adjust the weekend, including fewer meals in the Ark and elimination of office hours. Health and Safety will be a priority.

MEALS:
1. Fond farewell to Wes: We are blessed to have kept Wesley Shrader as long as we did, and we celebrate with a big “Thank You!” to Wes for three excellent years of service in Camp Bethel’s Ark Dining Hall. Wes' last day on the job was August 31.

2. Limited meal services this weekend: Since we are in transition (our new Food Services Coordinator begins October 19) and you do NOT want Barry preparing your food (...seriously, don't let Barry near the kitchen), we will only offer the following meal options this weekend:
  • Saturday, September 4, 10:00am BRUNCH. Adult $10, Child 4-12 $5, Infant 0-3 FREE. Pancakes, sausage links (GF), hash browns (DF/GF/VG), scrambled eggs (GF/VG), fruit, pastries, milk, juice, water, coffee & tea. Served with syrup, butter, apple butter, ketchup. Options include cereal, milk (2%, soy, & almond), yogurt, granola.
  • Saturday, September 4, 5:30pm DINNER. Adult $12, Child $6, Infant 0-3 FREE. Baked Rotini w/ grilled veggies and beef, seasoned green beans, white rolls, mixed greens salad with ranch & Italian dressing, chocolate chip cookies, sweet tea, water, coffee, teas. Options include whole fruit & PB&J.
  • Sunday, September 5, 8:00-9:00am cold breakfast buffet. Adult $6, Child $3, Infant 0-3 FREE.  Cereals, milk, granola, yogurt, bread/toast, bagels, cream cheese, jellies, peanut butter, butter, fruit, juice, coffee, teas.
  • Monday, September 6, 8:00-9:00am cold breakfast buffet. Adult $6, Child $3, Infant 0-3 FREE.  Cereals, milk, granola, yogurt, bread/toast, bagels, cream cheese, jellies, peanut butter, butter, fruit, juice, coffee, teas.

3. Deadline to reserve meals is Tuesday, August 31 by 12:00noon! We will serve buffet style, so please wash/sanitize your hands before going through the buffet line and EVERYONE (vaxxed or not) must wear a facemask while indoors except while eating. Wear a mask while getting food. All persons, please get a clean plate each time you visit the buffet, and please only take what you will eat.

4. Shelter-by-the-Spring is EVERYONE'S KITCHEN: since we are offering fewer meal options, we know you'll have to get creative for your own meals. The Shelter-by-the-Spring will serve as a communal kitchen for everyone who needs space to prepare meals and refrigerate food. We've added a large microwave oven in addition to the 2 stoves, 2 fridges/freezers, plus the gas grill.
Also, ice from the Ark is FREE this weekend (with donations encouraged). Other options: Get creative with outdoor campfire cooking! Local favorite restaurants include: 3 Lil' Pigs BBQ; Foot of the Mountain Cafe; Cuban Island; Bellacino's; Lentini's; and Brughs Mill Country Store has excellent breakfast biscuits!

"CAMP BETHEL PEP!" 5K is Saturday, September 4:  You're already HERE, so please go ahead and register for the 5K!

COVID-19 SAFETY: The Virginia Department of Health recommends ALL persons (vaccinated or not) wear masks indoors and around other UNvaccinated persons, and continue to wash/sanitize our hands and be as careful as possible, especially indoors and in crowded areas.

PAY IN ADVANCE: If you have not yet paid in full for THIS year's camping/lodging and/or meals AND NEXT year's lodging reservation, please calculate your fees and pay in advance and online at www.CampBethelVirginia.org/LaborDay. If necessary, you can also write a check and deliver it this weekend (with a note) to our office porch metal mailbox. As you recall, many of you who had paid facility reservations for the 2020 Labor Day Weekend forwarded your deposit to 2021 OR you donated your 2020 payment to camp (thank you). So, if you were previously reserved for 2020 Labor Day, you are also currently reserved for 2021 Labor Day!  If you donated your reservation, well, THANK YOU, but now you need to pay your new deposit to retain your present use. Don't remember? Then email Barry at CampBethelOffice@gmail.com. .

REQUIRED ATTENDANCE & MEALS FORM: If you plan (or wish) to attend and/or if you want meals, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE REQUIRED ATTENDANCE AND MEALS FORM. (The form is a Google Form; be sure to complete it and click SUBMIT.) Only the buildings you have reserved are available to you. The Ark (and all amenities within) is only available to guests who have reserved meals in advance and only at meal times. If you are reserved but are NOT planning to come, let us know so we can offer the facility/campsite (for this weekend only) to a family on our waiting list.

PLEASE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DEPART: Our largest annual Guest Group rental arrives Tuesday-Wednesday (and stays through Sunday), using ALL facilities. As you depart, please thoroughly clean your facility, campsite, indoor & outdoor areas, plus bathhouses, to help us prepare for a quick turn-around. Thank you!

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING:
"Our son and daughter have been coming to Camp Bethel since they were 5 years old--they are now 13 and 14 years old. We have found that your camp is one of the few that our kids continue to enjoy even as they are older. Other camps (sometimes a lot more expensive) are nice but for some reason the magic of Camp Bethel remains. We also really respect the way that your camp incorporates God and Bible study but in such a way that it is still cool--a rarity these days to find a place where kids can be kids and learn to love God and care for one another in God's creation. Thanks so much for the awesome experience for our kids and the ongoing magic that is Camp Bethel. Thanks, Gina and Chris Engel"
