2022 Heritage Day to be replaced by Congregational Events
We are so grateful for many congregations who are taking Special Offerings or holding individual fund-raisers, meals, or food/craft sales in honor of Heritage Day. These events remain an extremely important part of our 2022 budget and financial needs. We completed a broad survey of participation for Heritage Day 2022. Several congregations were willing, and several others were unable to participate here on site. We completely understand and fully support their decision making.
After much discussion, we made the difficult decision to wait until next year (Oct 7, 2023) for a return to an “on-site and in-person” Heritage Day. We know that Heritage Day is fully dependent on willing-and-able congregations providing many work hours to prepare and bring a booth. Many congregations’ ability to do this has changed since our last on-site Heritage Day in 2019, and COVID-19 concerns persist. Staff and the OMC will encourage and recruit returning and “new” congregations to reboot and restart Heritage Day in 2023. We appreciate your ideas, thoughts, and input as we rethink what's possible.
Please consider a Special Offering or Event in honor of Heritage Day. Contact our office to share details, CampBethelOffice@gmail.com, 540-992-2940.
