Paddlesports Adventure 3 (for rising 8th-12th graders, ages 13-18)
Choose your watercraft! Learn Canoeing, Kayaking, and Stand-Up-Paddleboarding ALL in one week! Or, choose one or two watercrafts and stick with them for the week. Your week includes 3 day trips on the James River with Beht Wiegandt, certified instructor, and Camp Bethel staff. You will learn river reading skills and how to control your craft as we navigate class I-II rapids.
No experience necessary, but all participants must be able to swim. Campers with prior paddling experience will learn advanced skills. Boats/boards, helmets, PFDs, skirts and boat gear is provided. Rated moderate.
Adventure Camp has your perfect mix of wild fun and discipleship activities. Adventure Camp is for active youth who enjoy the outdoors. You will truly live as a Christian body in a co-ed Unit of 6-10 campers with 2-4 counselors in one of our creek-side Adventure Villages in our vast and beautiful riparian forest. Each A.V. includes a boys’ hut, a girls’ hut (both with bunk beds, mattresses, & personal screening) and a dining shelter with a fire circle, all by the clean waters of Wilson Creek. Our platform huts have metal roofs and open ends for free air flow. You’ll eat most meals in the Ark, swim in the pool, attend all-camp events, and have access to all the amenities of the camp (including showers!). Activities for the week include group games, nature, crafts, music and singing, campfire vespers, swimming, low-ropes group challenges, creek-fun, hiking the camp trails and a singing hike to Horseshoe Bend, archery, orienteering and geocaching, slacklining, GaGa Ball & 9-Square, Morning Watch, Bible study, polar bear swims, night activities, special all-camp programs and a day on the climbing wall and high ropes course! A specific letter and gear guide will follow your sign-up. Learn more about Why, How, and What we do during Summer Camps including a complete activities list. This is a great week of spiritual development, fun and adventure; exploring your extraordinary faith journey and learning TOGETHER. Be here for an awesome week!
Subsidized Fee (discounted cost) = $510; Supporters Fee (actual cost) = $560; Sustainers Fee (cost + $50 gift) = $610.
