Hello Friends and Families!  Memorial Day Family Weekend is scheduled for May 27-30 at Camp Bethel. We're keeping an eye on COVID community levels in Botetourt County.  Health and Safety remains a priority, and we will follow Camp Bethel's COVID-19 Guidelines while present. As a result, our schedule of optional activities and meals is fewer than "normal" years.

COVID-19 SAFETY: People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should stay home or wear a mask. We should all continue to wash/sanitize our hands and be as careful as possible, especially indoors and in crowded areas.

WEATHER: Check the updated forecast using THIS LINK.

PAYMENT: If you have not yet paid in full for THIS year's camping/lodging and/or meals AND NEXT year's lodging reservation, use your "Payment and Future Reservations" form in your facility/campsite packet, calculate your fees, and pay in advance and online HERE. If necessary, you can also write a check and deliver it this weekend (with a note) to our office porch metal mailbox.

NO OFFICE HOURS: Use your "Payment and Future Reservations" form in your facility/campsite packet and pay ONLINE or by dropping payment (with a note) into our office metal mailbox.

As you recall, many of you who had paid facility reservations for the 2020 or 2021 Memorial Day Weekend forwarded your deposit to 2022 OR you donated prior payments to camp (thank you). If you donated your reservation, well, THANK YOU, but now you need to pay your new deposit to retain your present use. Don't remember? Then email Barry at CampBethelOffice@gmail.com.

MEALS: Meal reservations are due by May 23. If you reserve meals, please be on time (Saturday 10:00am & 5:30pm, Sunday 10:00am, Monday 9:00am). We will serve buffet style, so please wash/sanitize your hands before going through the buffet line. UNvaccinated diners should wear a mask while getting food. All persons, please get a clean plate each time you visit the buffet, and please only take what you will eat.

Shelter-by-the-Spring is EVERYONE'S KITCHEN: since we are offering fewer meal options, we know you'll have to get creative for your own meals. The Shelter-by-the-Spring will serve as a communal kitchen for everyone who needs space to prepare meals and refrigerate food. We've added a large microwave oven in addition to the 2 stoves, 2 fridges/freezers, plus the gas grill. Other options: Get creative with outdoor campfire cooking! Local favorite restaurants include: 3 Lil' Pigs BBQ; Foot of the Mountain Cafe; Cuban Island; Bellacino's; Lentini's; and Brughs Mill Country Store has excellent breakfast biscuits!

If you plan to attend and/or if you want meals, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE REQUIRED ATTENDANCE AND MEALS FORM. (The form is a Google Form; be sure to complete it and click SUBMIT.) Only the buildings you have reserved are available to you. The Ark (and all amenities within) is only available to guests who have reserved meals in advance and only at meal times.

If you are reserved but are NOT planning to come, let us know so we can offer the facility/campsite (for this weekend only) to a family on our waiting list.

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING:
"Our son and daughter have been coming to Camp Bethel since they were 5 years old--they are now 13 and 14 years old. We have found that your camp is one of the few that our kids continue to enjoy even as they are older. Other camps (sometimes a lot more expensive) are nice but for some reason the magic of Camp Bethel remains. We also really respect the way that your camp incorporates God and Bible study but in such a way that it is still cool--a rarity these days to find a place where kids can be kids and learn to love God and care for one another in God's creation. Thanks so much for the awesome experience for our kids and the ongoing magic that is Camp Bethel. Thanks, Gina and Chris Engel"
